Try your hand at hitting a tiny ball into a far away hole with a stick.

Until recently, golf was a rich white guys' sport. But that's changing, with many courses developing accessible youth programs, hosting affordable evens, and making what was once a private club a public one.
Golf isn't for everyone. In fact, one local group would rather have a public sex forest (they make a good argument, honestly). But if you've ever been golf-curious, now's a great time to explore what local courses have to offer.
Baker National Golf Course and Driving Range
This 210-acre area features a driving range, 9-hole executive course, and 18-hole national championship course. Birnamwood Public Golf Course

Bluff Creek Golf Course

Braemar Golf Course and Dome

Brightwood Hills Golf Course

Brookland Golf Park

Brookview Golf Course and Recreation Area

Bunker Hills Golf Course

Castlewood Golf Course

Cedarholm Golf Course

Cleary Lake Golf Course

Columbia Golf Club

Como Golf Course

Dahlgreen Golf Club

Daytona Golf Club

Eagle Lake Regional Park

Eagle Valley Golf Club

Edinburgh USA Golf Course and Country Club

Fort Snelling Golf Club

Francis A. Gross National Golf Club

Gem Lake Hills Golf Course

Glen Lake Golf and Practice Center

Goodrich Golf Course

Hiawatha Golf Club
This 140-acre, 18-hole, par-73 course is in the heart of south Minneapolis, running alongside Lake Hiawatha. There’s also a pro-shop and a driving range. 4553 Longfellow Ave. S., Minneapolis; 612-230-6525; minneapolisparks.org/golf.
Highland National Golf Range
This 18-hole, par-72 municipal course has a Snoopy shaped bunker on the 15th hole dedicated to Charles Schulz, who learned to play golf here. Wholesome! The Highland Park nine-hole golf course is right across the street. 1403 Montreal Ave., St. Paul, 651-695-3774; golfstpaul.org.
Hyland Greens Golf Course

Inver Wood Golf Course

The Loop at Chaska

Majestic Oaks Golf Club
